JLP councillor crosses floor in St. Elizabeth parish council

by May 14th, 2015

Councillor for the Southfield division in the St. Elizabeth parish council Gregory Myers has crossed the floor joining the People’s National Party, PNP.

The former Jamaica Labour Party councillor had indicated to the secretary manager of the council that he would be joining the ranks of the PNP during this morning’s sitting of the council

The PNP now has ten members to the JLP’s five, with the crossing of Mr. Myers.

The 45-year-old Myers, who is a primary school teacher, became councillor in 2012.

He replaced his father, Shirley Myers, who was councillor from 1986 to 2012.

His decision follows a JLP delegates’ selection process in March, where Myers was defeated by businessman Albert Williams.
