Jamaica will be taking the best set of girls to the FIFA World Cup this summer- Hue Menzies

Senior Reggae Girls head coach Hue Menzies says Jamaica will be taking the best set of girls to the FIFA World Cup this summer.

Speaking with Irie FM sports at this morning’s press launch of the reggae girls versus Chile two game friendly match ups Menzies and made it clear that every player, including those who helped the country to qualify last year will be chosen on merit for the final squad of 23.

The reggae girls drawn in group C’ at the FIFA World Cup will tackle, Brazil, Italy and Australia in the group phase.

Meanwhile Jamaica’s reggae girls this morning staged the first of three training sessions ahead of the upcoming pair of friendly internationals against Chile.

The games to be played at the national stadium on Thursday and in Catherine Hall on Sunday, are part of the team’s preparation for the upcoming FIFA Women’s world cup finals in France.

The Chileans who arrived in the island yesterday, are coming off a recent 2-1 win over Italy.

The Reggae Girls tackle Chile at 7pm in the feature game, which will  be  preceded  by  the  national  under 23  team  facing  off  with  a KSAFA invitational   team  at  5  o  clock.
