A 21 year old man has been taken into custody in connection with the murder of former east Portland Member of Parliament, Dr. Lynvale Bloomfield.

Dr. Bloomfield was found stabbed to death at his Paisley Garden home in Portland shortly after 10 a.m. on Saturday February 2, by an employee.

Police had detained a person of interest in the case, some two weeks ago, but he was later released.

Irie FM News understands that this is the same individual that has been detained by the police once more.

Attorney at law Peter Champagnie confirmed that he is representing the man, who is being interrogated by detectives from the Major Investigation Division.
