Constant Spring market vendors have to vacate by this weekend

by March 1st, 2019

Vendors at the Constant Spring Market in St. Andrew will have to vacate the market this weekend as the National Works Agency is set to begin work, next week.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court denied the application by the vendors to grant an injunction to bar the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation from demolishing the market.

Last year, the vendors received verbal notice to leave the market to facilitate the expansion of the constant spring road in St. Andrew.

In an interview with Irie FM News, Chief Executive Officer of the KSAMC Robert Hill says he wanted to make it clear that the corporation is not responsible for the demolition of the market.

Mr. Hill says some of the vendors have graciously accepted their fate.
