A 21-year-old woman was allegedly shot and killed by her common-law husband, who then turned the weapon on himself in Melrose Mews, Manchester last night.

Dead are 21-year-old Shad Smith of New Green and her common-law-husband 23-year-old security guard, Terrence Reid of Melrose Mews, both in Manchester.

Commanding officer for Manchester, Superintendent Melvin Brown says preliminary reports are that the two were involved in an argument when it’s alleged that Reid shot and killed Smith, and then shot himself.

Superintendent Brown says Reid’s licensed firearm was seized.

The incident occurred sometime after 10 o’ clock last night.
