Incarcerated dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel is in stable condition after being admitted in hospital for days.

Music News understands that Kartel was transported to the University Hospital of the West Indies in St. Andrew under heavy police guard on Sunday.

The deejay who has an ongoing thyroid issue had a medical crisis and was hospitalized. 

Tom Tavares-Finson, one of the attorney’s representing Vybz Kartel says following the intervention of the doctors the crisis was brought under control. He adds that Kartel who has been ill for a few days will be treated and released today (March 5, 2019).

In relating news, following an appeal trial eight months ago, Vybz Kartel and his legal team continue to wait for a judgement.

Both Kartel and Shawn Storm along with two others made an appeal against their murder convictions and life sentences in the Supreme Court.

In July last year, several attorneys appeared before the Court of Appeal, seeking to overturn the convictions and sentences.

A judgement is expected early this year.
