Jamaica’s medal tally now stands at 4 the Special Olympic World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 in the Unite Arab Emirates.

The Jamaicans started Saturday with 1 medal, but ended the day with four.

First up Sekani Green who snapped the silver in the men’ 500 meters roller skatinf final stopping the clock in 1 minute 24.75 seconds.

The other medals came in Track and Field where Gavane Palmer completed a remarkable run to capture silver in the men;s half marathon> He came across the line in 1 hour 47 minutes and 17 seconds, while Brandy Clementson was third in the girls 200 meters in her division .

In Bocce Delroy Sullivan remains in line for gold on Sunday after he won all of his three games in his division, beating San Marino 10-nil, before turning back Bulgaria 10-nil, and shutting out Australia 7-3.

Meanwhile the female Football team remained on course for the gold medal game after chalking up win number two in as many games. The Jamaicans led by Tavia Collins clipped Serbia one nil to move to six points and joint top of their group with Uruguay.

The unbeaten run of the Special Olympic Reggae Boys came to an end today, after they suffered a 4-1 loss to host United Arab Emirates in a jam packed stadium where the homes came out in their numbers to stand behind their team.

The Male Unified basketball kept incontention for a semi-final spot as they remained unbeaten in two games, but suffered a scare before pulling off a 49-47 win over Ivory Coast in double overtime.

The female volleyballers had a rough outing on the day after losing to Kenya, Russia and Peru, while the male team bounced back with a win over Kazakstan but lost to Japan who they had defeated earlier.

Badminton had the day off and will be among those who will be in action on Sunday, which also includes the swimmers, those in Track and Field and Roller skating.
