by May 18th, 2015

In anticipation of a greater demand for passports, following the announced price increase, the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency PICA has adopted measures to ensure that its customers are properly served.

The price increases are to take effect next Tuesday, May 26.

Between today (Monday, May 18) and Friday, May 22 the agency will only receive applications from customers whose passports have expired or will expire in six months or less as well as from first-time applicants.

In addition, PICA will not be offering expedited service during the period, save for emergency cases.

With the exception of time sensitive cases, customers wishing to obtain immigration and citizenship services during the period are also being asked to delay their visit to any of the PICA offices to transact such businesses until the following week.

Persons who are scheduled to pick up their passports at PICA’s head office on Constant Spring Road on Wednesday, May 20 through to Friday, May 22 should visit the Police Officers’ Club on Hope Road to collect their document.

The new passport fees announced by the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency will take effect on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.

The price to get an adult passport will move from $4,500 to $6,500. The passport for minors will cost $4,000, up from $2,700 and the cost for replacing the passport will be $11,500, up from $9,500.
