Former West Indies team manager Ricky Skerritt and St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association President Dr. Kishore shallow are waking up this morning a s the new president and vice-president of Cricket West Indies.
They were elevated to the positions yesterday at the annual general meeting of the board where they beat incumbents Dave Cameron and Emmanuel Nathan 8-4 in the vote.
Skerritt who is a Former Minister of Sports and Tourism in St Kitts and Nevis and shallow, takes up office for the next two years as they denied Cameron and Nathan a fourth -consecutive term.
Skerritt expressed surprise at the margin of victory, as the election was expected to be a close battle.
However one of the two representatives from Trinidad raised a motion to conduct the voting through a secret ballot…….. it received majority support, thus deepening the mystery over who exactly voted for Cameron or Skeritt.
Skerritt believes the endorsement from the former players including Andy Roberts and Clive Lloyd played a big role in his election success
