Legendary musician Winston Bo Pee Bowen has died.

The veteran guitarist suffered a heart attack at home and later died at the Medical Associates Hospital in Kingston on Tuesday.

Bo Pee started his career in the mid-1970’s, first recording at Channel One studio. He then became a member of noted bands such as Lloyd Parks and We The People, 809 and the Firehouse Crew, touring with artistes such as Dennis Brown, Ziggy Marley, and Luciano.

Lloyd Parks, founder and leader of the legendary Lloyd Parks and The We The Band band, said Bo Pee was an innovative musician who will be sadly missed.

Meanwhile, veteran radio Broadcaster Bob Clarke says it’s a sad day for reggae.

In recent years, Bowen recorded and toured with the Inna Di Yard group and was a member of U Roy’s band.

He was age 62.
