Parliament’s Public Administration and Appropriations Committee (PAAC) has requested that the Finance Ministry provide a complete list of all consultants employed to the government.

The request was made by PAAC Chairman, Dr. Wykeham McNeill at today’s (Mar 26) sitting of the committee, and comes in light of questions surrounding the employment of persons aligned with the ruling party as consultants of institutions under the watch of the previous Education Minister.

Dr. McNeill said the committee had been informed a year ago that, that there were three consultants in the ministry, however, there is information to suggest that other persons may have been hired without the committee’s knowledge.

The PAAC Chairman further requested that the ministry of education be invited to appear before the committee.
