JLP and PNP election machinery working to get voters out for East Portland by election

Jamaica Labour Party candidate for East Portland Ann-Marie Vaz says she is happy with today’s (Apl 4) voter turnout saying today is deliverance day for the people of East Portland.

While acknowledging that the process was slow in some areas, she expressed confidence that she will win the by-election.

Speaking after casting her ballot at the Drapers All Age School Mrs. Vaz described today as a very special day for her.

And, People’s National Party’s candidate for East Portland Damion Crawford has stated that the party’s election machinery has been working effectively to reach its target numbers of voters.

He did not disclose the number.

Earlier today, PNP Chairman Fitz Jackson noted the voter turnout, and said efforts would be made to get more electors out in the afternoon, before the polls closed.

The general complaints about today’s voting process in East Portland were long lines and delays.
