Prime Minister, Portia Simpson-Miller is urging citizens who do not want to report child abuse cases to the police, to call her.
The Prime Minister was speaking at an event in Bernard Lodge, St Catherine yesterday.
Mrs Simpson-Miller said she is standing up against the abuse of children and called for residents to stand with her.
She said the debate to amend The Child Care and Protection Act will see parents who believe they have a God-given right to abuse children, face the full force of the law.
Mrs Simpson-Miller added that while the government will be relentless in pursuing child abusers, the community also has a part to play.
