Jamaica’s 2015 IAAF World 100 meters champion Danielle Williams is among a group of global stars confirmed for the first event   of the 2019 IAAF Diamond league series.

The May 3 meet at   the state-of-the-art Khaliah International stadium in Doha will see Williams facing reigning Olympic champion and 2018 Diamond League winner Brianna McNeal from the United States.

The field also includes reigning world champion Sally Pearson, European champion Elvira Herman, African champion Tobi Amusan and Sharika Nelvis who won the U.S indoor 60 metre hurdles title in a world-leading 7.85 seconds.

Other marquee names confirmed for the meet so far include IAAF female athlete of the year Catherine Ibarguen, Tianna Bartoletta, world pole vault champion Sam Kendricks and Olympic champion Thiago Braz from Brazil who returned to form during the indoor season with a 5.80 metreS clearance.
