by April 13th, 2019

Jamaica and West Indies hard hitting batsman Chris Gayle was left stranded one short of another blistering century for the Kings Eleven Punjab who went down by 8 wickets to the royal challengers Bangalore who avoided an unwanted Indian Premier League record today.

Gayle whacked five sixes and ten fours to end unbeaten on 99 as king eleven posted 173 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs.

He faced 64 balls in his knock as Lokesh Rahul and Mandeep Singh were the next highest scorers with 18 each

At their turn at bat royal challengers chasing 174 to win captain Virat Kohli made 67 from 53 balls, ab de Villiers 59 not out  and Marcus Stoinis 26  saw  home with four balls to spare.

Defeat for RCB would have seen them become the first side in IPL history to lose their first seven matches of the tournament, but they stopped the rot in Mohali today.
