Buju Banton promotes unity; Gargamel invites Police Commissioner on stage

by April 23rd, 2019

Despite being profiled by Trinidad’s Police, Buju Banton in a quest for unity invited the country’s Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith on stage in the midst of his performance Sunday night.

During the Trinidadian leg of his Long Walk To Freedom concert, Buju called on the Commissioner of Police who used the opportunity to show the Gargamel love and spoke about unity between Jamaica and Trinidad.

All this comes after Trinidad’s Police Department raided Buju’s hotel room in Port of Spain on Saturday after they claimed to have had a search warrant.

New details are that the Trinidadian government was reportedly unaware of the raid.

Police Commissioner Griffith has since apologized to Buju Banton.

Buju’s performance in Trinidad marked the third stop of his Long Walk To Freedom Tour. The event featured supporting acts such as Wayne Wonder, LUST, and Koffee. Buju again delivered a superb performance.

The Gargamel is expected to make stops in Barbados, Grenada, British Virgin Islands, and St. Kitts.

Buju Banton is slated to perform at Reggae Sumfest July 20 at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay.
