‘Windies’ have an outside chance of lifting the 2019 Cricket World Cup- Lara

by May 2nd, 2019

The ‘Windies senior men’s team have an outside chance of lifting the 2019 Cricket World Cup in England and Wales which bowls off on May 30 but must improve on its consistency .

That’s the word from former ‘Windies batting legend Brian Lara.

Lara who holds the world’s batting record of 400 test runs, gave the regional team the dark horse billing for the tournament, warning that the regional team could struggle in the world cup’s new format, which requires the ten teams to play against each other in round robin matches during the preliminary stage before moving to the semifinal.

Lara who will celebrate his 50th birthday tomorrow, fancies India ranked second behind England in the ICC’s  ODI rankings to upset  the world number one ranked  England for the title.
