Some 10% of the members of the constabulary have called in sick in protest against the wage offer from government.

However the hierarchy of the Jamaica Constabulary Force is seeking to assure the public that contingency measures are in place.

The officers have been calling in sick since last night.

Commanding officer in charge of the operations branch, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Assan Thompson says he has received no report that the action has disrupted operations.

Irie fm news understands that no prisoner was brought to the gun and home circuit courts this morning as no police officer was there to process them.
