England beat Windies women by 42-runs in second T/20 International

An excellent knock by Danielle Wyatt propelled England to a convincing 42-run victory in the second t20i against West Indies at Northampton today.

The victory gives the hosts a 1-nil lead in the three match series after the opening match, also in Northampton, was washed out on Tuesday ……….and marks their 14th win in a row across all formats for England.

England electing to bat first posted 180 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs, with Whyatt top scoring with 81, while Amy Elen Jones supported with 37, and Natalie Sciever chipped in with 31.

There was a wicket each for Chinele Henry, Afy fletcher, Hayley Mattews and Shamilia Connell.

In reply, the Caribbean women chasing 181 runs to win folded at 138 for 9 with Stacy Ann king 43 and Chadean Nation 32 getting most runs. This against linsey smith and Katherine brunt who took two wickets apiece.

The third and final game in the series will be played next Tuesday.
