Tributes continue to pour in for Bahamian entertainer MDEEZ who was murdered on the weekend.

Josef Bogdanovich, owner, and producer of Reggae Sumfest has expressed shock and sadness at the death of the entertainer who was booked to perform at the festival.

In a press release sent to Music News, Bogdanovich said, “I am extremely saddened by the loss of a talented musician in such a senseless act of violence. The Sumfest family wishes to let MDEEZ’s family and other loved ones know that we share in their grief and deeply regret that he will not be performing at the festival.”

Music News understands that MDEEZ was killed in the Bahamas on Friday night after an altercation following a traffic accident which took a violent turn.

Reports from the Bahamas are that around 7 pm two vehicles collided at the junction of Prince Charles Drive and Fox Hill Road. The two men who were driving became involved in an altercation which resulted in MDEEZ being stabbed multiple times.

He was transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

MDEEZ was slated to perform on Night 1 at Reggae Sumfest next month at Catherine Hall Montego Bay.

He was also expected to leave the Bahamas on Friday, June 28, for a 12-week tour that would see him making stops in Canada, the US, and Jamaica.

MDEEZ was a Jamaican-Bahamian reggae artist best known for his songs, “Times Hard” and “Ghetto Cry”.
