Singer Pat Kelly to be laid to rest in August

Industry players, family, friends, and fans will bid their final farewell to reggae singer Pat Kelly next month.

Music News understands that a Thanksgiving Service will be held at the Boulevard Baptist Church on Saturday, August 17 at 11 am.

The entertainer whose career began in the late 1960s died on July 16 from complications of kidney disease.

In 1968, Pat Kelly went solo, moving from Reid to Bunny Lee, and debuted with a Mayfield cover, “Little Boy Blue”.

His biggest-selling Jamaican single of 1969 was “How Long Will It Take”.

He also moved into production, producing his Youth and Youth album in 1978, and co-producing John Holt’s, The Impressible John Holt (Disco Mix) album in 1979.

Pat Kelly died at age 69.
