Prime Minister Andrew Holness has assured that efforts are being made to adjust the curfew times under the state of public emergency.

He was responding to queries from opposition MP Horace Dalley yesterday, while the lower house deliberated on extending the emergency measures imposed in western parishes.

Dalley pointed out that despite complaints and promises, the opening and closing times for businesses, and other activities, in areas affected by the SOE remain unchanged.

He noted the unfairness of the disparity in the operating times for large and small businesses.

In response, Holness said the discussions are being held on proposed changes that would be put in a ministry paper later on.
