Chelsea issues life ban to fan who racially abused Raheem Sterling

by July 30th, 2019

Europa league winners Chelsea have issued a life ban to a fan for using racially abusive language towards Jamaican-born England star Raheem Sterling.

Sterling who plays for Manchester city was targeted during the first half of the premier league showdown between the two teams at Stamford Bridge on December 8.

The crown prosecution service recently revealed it had dropped the case as there was insufficient evidence for a criminal charge.

However Chelsea conducted their own investigation and said they delayed reaching their decision so as not to prejudice the related police investigation.

Five other supporters were also temporarily suspended from Stamford bridge for between one  and two years for using “abusive language and threatening and aggressive behaviour.”
