West Indies all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford named in the Mumbai Indians IPL team

by July 31st, 2019

West Indies all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford has been roped in by defending champions Indian Premier League Mumbai Indians.

The four-time title winners have released leg-spinner Mayank Markande opting for a players transfer trade with Dehli Capitals

Rutherford, who made his IPL debut in 2019 with the capitals, featured in seven matches in which he scored 73 runs and picked up one wicket. Rutherford, however, had an impressive CPL season last year as he scored 171 runs in eight games at an average of 34.20.

Markande had a good debut season with Mumbai Indians in 2018 as he picked up 15 wickets and was the third highest wicket-taker for his team in that edition.

However, Mumbai Indians preferred Rahul Chahar over Markande in the 2019 season, with the former picking up 13 wickets in 13 matches while the latter played only three matches with a solitary wicket.
