One year and counting, and the question of whether Vybz Kartel will be granted an appeal remain unanswered.

It’s been over a year and incarcerated dancehall deejays Vybz Kartel and Shawn Storm continue to wait on a judgment. In July last year, several attorneys appeared before the Court of Appeal, seeking to overturn the convictions and sentences.

Both entertainers along with two other men appealed their murder convictions and life sentences in the Supreme Court.

The men were convicted of the killing of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams at a house in Havendale, St Andrew, on August 2011.

They were all given the mandatory life sentences with Vybz Kartel ordered to serve 35 years before he is eligible for parole while Sean Storm will be eligible for parole in 25 years.
