Everything good to go for Garvey Celebration

Flags bearing the colours black, red, and green will fly high when people of all walks of life converge in the IRIE FM Courtyard for its annual Marcus Garvey Celebration.

Lutan Fyah, Bugle, Chezedek, Bongo Herman, and Hero are some of the entertainers slated to pay tribute to Jamaica’s first National hero on Sunday, August 18.

Other entertainers set to pay tribute to Marcus Garvey are South African Praise Poet, singer, and actress Jessica Mbageni, The Kingston Drummers, Ras I-vi and the Nyabinghi Drummers, Earl Chinna Smith and the Binghistra, Prof I, Chezidek, Prophecy, Sativa Di Black One, Mixing Lab, Jah-Don and others.

Meanwhile, the speakers will include Dr. David Muhammad, Trinidad, and Eastern Caribbean representative of the Honourable Minister Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam and Spoken Word Poet, Educator, Journalist, and Community Activist, El Jones.

This year dubbed “One Africa, One Nation”, the Marcus Garvey Celebration continues to educate, uplift and inspire through the arts.

The 28th staging of IRIE FM’s Marcus Garvey Celebration will be held this Sunday, August 18, from 6 am with a Live Broadcast of the Africa Forum with Ka’Bu Ma’at Kheru.

The event set to run until 10 pm will be streamed live on iriefm.net, and broadcast live on the 107s.
