The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) has activated its emergency response team in the eastern end of the island for possible impact from Tropical Storm Dorian.

The storm is projected to pass by St. Thomas and Portland on Thursday or Friday.

Odpem Parish Coordinator for Portland, Denise Lewis, notes that members of the parish disaster committee including community emergency responders are ready in the event the parish is impacted.

Miss Lewis says there will be efficient and effective response if the need arises.
