by September 2nd, 2019

Several Reggae and Dancehall entertainers have taken to social media to show their support for the Bahamas after category 5 Hurricane Dorian wreaked havoc on sections of the island on Sunday.

Gramps Morgan, Romain Virgo, Alaine, and dancehall deejays Spice, Konshens, and Dovey Magnum have each used their Instagram pages to share ‘Pray for Bahamas’ messages.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Bahamas Hubert Minnis wrote on Twitter, “This is probably the saddest and worst day for me to address the Bahamian people. We are facing a hurricane that we have never seen in the Bahamas, please pray for us.”

Images and video from the Bahamas showed floodwaters swirling just below battered rooftops, submerged cars, and floating debris from damaged houses.

Hurricane Dorian is the strongest hurricane to ever hit the Bahamas.

Meanwhile, a hurricane warning is in effect for Florida. Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center say Hurricane Dorian is expected to move closer to the east coast of Florida by late Monday through Tuesday night.
