PNP delegates to pick party leader in hotly contested race tomorrow

Delegates of the People’s National Party head to the polls tomorrow to select a new party leader.

 

The incumbent Dr. Peter Phillips is being challenged by Peter Bunting in what has been describe in some circles as a hotly contested race.

Bunting stated that he threw his hat in the ring as a means of invigorating the party which had become dormant under the leadership of Dr. Phillips.

 

Party General Secretary Julian Robinson has stated that all is in place for tomorrow’s poll where some 2,800 delegates, from across the island are eligible to vote in the election.

 

Dr. Phillips One PNP camp and the Rise United camp of Mr. Bunting have been at odds with accusations and counter accusations about the manner in which either side has opted to conduct their campaign.

 

The secretariat of the party has stated that following the contest there will need to be a time for healing.
