Two PPV operators charged for having over one thousand tickets

Two public transport operators were arrested and charged yesterday, after it was found that together, they had over one thousand outstanding traffic tickets.

 

They are taxi operator 26-year-old, Cleveland Dockery of Arnett Gardens in Kingston, and fifty-three year old, Rohan Williams, a bus operator of  Crescent Road, Kingston 10.

 

Dockery was also charged with no motor vehicle insurance coverage, forgery, uttering forged documents and conspiracy to deceive, after he altered traffic documents issued to him by the police.

 

Police say about 10:00 a.m., Mr. Dockery was stopped by the police along Half Way Tree road in St. Andrew where he was issued with a document for operating contrary to the terms of his road license which resulted in the seizure of his motor vehicle.

 

He later made alterations to the document in order to retrieve the motor vehicle. Checks were made and it was revealed that the documents were forged.

 

He was arrested and charged. Further checks revealed that Dockery had over 100 unpaid traffic tickets since 2018, for which 10 warrants were issued for his arrest.

 

He is to appear before the Kingston and St. Andrew traffic court on Monday, September 16 for the traffic offences and Wednesday, September 25 at the Kingston and St. Andrew parish court to answer to forgery charges.

 

The owner of the vehicle was also charged with aiding and abetting no motor vehicle insurance coverage, and is to appear before the Kingston and St. Andrew traffic court on Friday, September 27.

 

Meanwhile, Rohan Williams, was arrested about 4:00 p.m., after he was stopped by the police along Slipe road, Kingston 5.

 

Checks revealed that Williams had over one thousand unpaid traffic tickets and three warrants which were issued for his arrest.

 

He is to appear before the Kingston and St. Andrew traffic court on Monday, September 16.
