Police deployed to ensure safety in KMTR following strike by JUTC drivers

Head of the constabulary’s Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, Assistant Commissioner, Dr. Kevin Blake says, officers have been deployed in the Kingston Metropolitan area, to assist with the management of rush hour traffic.

 

He says, with the recent rainfall, traffic is to be expected but, in light of the withdrawal of service by JUTC drivers, officers will be on the roads, to make commuting for citizens as smooth as possible.

 

Dr. Blake adds, that, police officers will provide security for JUTC drivers on some routes.

 

 

He notes that, commuters are still experiencing difficulty in getting to their destinations.

 

 

Dr. Blake says, the police continue to assess the situation.
