A search team has recovered the body of a 9-year-old boy who was washed away by floodwaters last Wednesday in St Andrew.  The body of 9-year-old Kyle Richards was found at a quarry close to the Harbour View Bridge.

Councillor for the Papine division Venesha Phillips says the body was found sometime after 10 am.  She says family members were part of the group that made the discovery

Two search teams resumed the search this morning.

Ms Phillips is asking persons on the search team or those who have received pictures of the body to refrain from sharing, to allow the family to grieve

The searches have been underway since last Wednesday and Councillor Phillips is expressing gratitude to all who helped with the search

Police had reported that Kyle was walking home from school with an adult and other children about 3:45 pm on Wednesday. They were crossing a track near a gully in August Town when he was carried away by flood waters.
