Taxi operator shot dead in Duhaney Park

A taxi operator was shot and killed by unknown assailants in Duhaney Park, Kingston earlier today.

 

The identity of the deceased has not yet been ascertained.

 

He is said to have plied the Down town Kingston to Half Way Tree route.

 

The incident occurred about 1 pm, at the intersection of Duhaney Drive and Washington Boulevard.

 

Meantime, President of the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services, Edgeton Newman has expressed sadness at yet another attack on a member of the transport sector.

 

Today’s killing follows one some hours ago in Manchester.

 

 

Newman called on the police to thoroughly investigate the case and bring the perpetrators to justice.

 

He also called for persons who know the man killed today to be calm, and not seek to retaliate.
