by October 10th, 2019

Attorney at law representing President of the Caribbean Maritime University, Professor Fritz Pinnock, Hugh Wildman is expressing dissatisfaction with the method used by police personnel to obtain his client, for arrest yesterday.

Pinnock, along with four others who are accused of engaging in alleged fraudulent and corrupt actions at the CMU and education ministry, were arrested and taken into custody during the early morning raids.

They were subsequently questioned and charged for various illegal acts to include; breaches of the corruption prevention act, conspiracy to defraud and misconduct in a public office at common law.

Speaking with reporters, this morning, Mr. Wildman said the early morning raid appears to have been politically motivated.

He said given that Mr. Pinnock and his co-accused are well-known, a more subtle approach could have been taken in arresting them.

He also expressed concern with the search warrant used.

He explained that items which were not outlined in the warrant were searched and confiscated as evidence.
