Jason Holder retains his place as the world’s top all-rounder

West Indies captain Jason Holder has retained his place as the world’s top all-rounder following the latest ICC test rankings.

Holder holds on to the position at 472 points ahead of India’s Ravindra Jadeja who retained his second place spot with 406 points.

England’s Ben Stokes, South Africa’s Vernon Philander and India’s Ravichandran Ashwin rounds out the top five.

On the bowling side holder has slipped a place to fourth swapping places with New Zealand’s Neil Wagner.

They are behind top ranked Pat Cummings of Australia and South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada.

Meanwhile holder at number 34 is the highest placed West Indies player on the batting rankings list.

India captain Virat Khohli has reduced the gap on top ranked Steve smith.

Kholi rode on his commanding century in the day/night test against Bangladesh to close the gap from 25 to three points with Australian Smith who has to retain the second spot.

Opener Mayank Agarwal who struck a double century in the first test against Bangladesh in Indore, jumped one place to 10th.

He is the fourth Indian batsmen in the top 10 list.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane remained at fourth and fifth positions respectively.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes also reached the top 10 for the first time by jumping three places after scores of 91 and 28 against New Zealand.
