Shaggy performs for Rainforest fund in New York

Shaggy was one of the headlining acts at the Rainforest Fund 30th anniversary benefit concert held in New York on Monday night, to raise funds for the protection of the world’s rainforests.

Under the theme ‘We’ll Be Together’ featuring songs and videos from the 80s and 90s, the Rainforest Fund in partnership with MTV, presented a celebration of artists and songs, of the 80s and 90s.

Since inception, the Rainforest Fund has been committed to protecting the world’s rainforests and supporting the human rights of the indigenous people who live within them.

All proceeds from the Rainforest Fund benefit concert will go directly towards the support and protection, of the indigenous people and their land, as they are the best protectors of this vital element of our ecosystem.

Shaggy, who proudly represented Jamaica by performing with a Jamaican flag scarf, also shared a photograph of himself and Bruce Springsteen on his Instagram page. Other entertainers billed for the event were Sting, Run DMC, and Ricky Martin, among others.
