The Tourism Ministry says, it has taken note of claims made by a British couple, about their experience at a hotel in western Jamaica.

The couple outlined what they described as their ordeal in an article published today in the Daily Mail online.

Among the complaints were allegedly being served under cooked food, exposed electrical wires, and dilapidated buildings.

The couple complained that the travel agency they booked with marketed the hotel as a 5 star platinum, but their experience proved otherwise.

Senior Strategist in the Tourism Ministry, Delano Seiveright said the matter is being checked out.

Meantime, Mr. Seiveright noted, that he does not expect any significant impact from the daily mail article, which comes just days after other media entities endorsed Jamaica, as a top go to holiday destination.
