by April 6th, 2017

The three men, including a police constable, who were picked up for the shooting of a man in Grant’s Pen, St. Thomas, on Tuesday, have been detained as investigations continue.

According to Commanding Officer for St. Thomas, Superintendent Beau Rigabe, the men were  remanded upon the request of investigators.

The process involves a file being placed before a judge or Justice of the Peace, and deliberated upon, to determine whether to remand, release or charge them.

In the meantime, Superintendent Rigabe has commented on reports that the victim, 33 year old Carl Armstrong, a bookkeeper of Llandewey District was not the intended target.

He says, while the police cannot conclusively say so, based on the investigations so far, it would suggest, that the victim was not the intended target.

Armstrong was shot in the car, in plain view of children, in front a school’s gate.

The men, including the cop were held in Bull Bay, St. Andrew, in a car fitting the description of the get-away vehicle.

Three firearms were taken from the vehicle.
