AGD staff protest over poor air quality

Some workers at the Accountant General’s Department, staged a demonstration outside the entity’s Church Street Office in Kingston, this morning (Feb 1).

The workers were protesting against conditions at the office to include poor air quality, among other issues.

In an interview with Irie FM News, O’Neil Grant who is President of the Jamaica Civil Service Association – the union which represents the workers – says the problems at the Accountant General’s Department have been on-going.

Mr. Grant notes that the workers want to be moved to a temporary location, until the issues at the facility have been resolved.

He says steps are being taken to deal with the grievances expressed by the staff.
