Agent mounts road block for Leon Bailey’s national team debut

by October 3rd, 2017

Highly rated Jamaican teenage winger Leon Bailey has missed out on a chance to represent the Reggae Boyz in the upcoming friendly international against World Cup qualifiers Saudi Arabia.

The Bayer Leverkusen star was on the verge of being invited by coach Theodore ‘Tappa’ Whitmore but conditions outlined by his agent Craig Butler made it impossible for Bailey to make his debut for the national senior team.

Bailey was in Whitmore’s plans up until the middle of last week when member of the JFF hierarchy – along with Whitmore – met with Butler the Phoenix Academy boss.

Irie Fm reporter Robert Williams provides a detailed report of the unfolding saga.
