Jamaican Olympian and world record holder, Alia Atkinson, won gold at the FINA Swimming World Cup in China today.
Atkinson stopped the clock at 1-minute-7-point-6-seconds to win the women’s 100-metres breaststroke final.
She finished ahead of Russia’s Vitalina Simonova and Jinjow Yu of china.
This is Atkinson’s second gold of the 2019 world cup circuit, adding to the gold she won in the 50-metres breaststroke in japan.
She’ll return to the pool today to contest the 50-metres breaststroke.
