Alia splashes up gold …..again at the FINA/Airweave Swimming World Cup in Qatar

Jamaica’s double world record holder alia Atkinson captured her second gold medal in the latest stop in the 2017 FINA/Air Weave swimming world cup series in Doha Qatar today.

The two time Olympic finalist was once again in smashing form as she captured the women’s 50 meters breaststroke to follow up her victory in the 100 meters breaststroke yesterday.

Atkinson clocked 29.42 seconds in striking the gold today finishing ahead of Rikke Pederson of Denmark who posted 30.32 seconds and Lena Kreundl of Austria 31.24 seconds.

Yesterday Atkinson clocked one minute 04.21 seconds to take gold in the women’s 100 metre breaststroke .

the results in Doha follows Atkinson’s winning gold medals in both the 50 metre and 100 metre breaststroke events in Hong Kong on the weekend.
