by October 14th, 2017

A St. Ann man, said to be a known robber and violence producer, was shot and killed by unknown assailants in the Lewis community, near Priory, this morning (Oct 14).

Dead is 20 year old Patrick Myrie, otherwise called Zeeks, of Stony Hill district, Lewis.

Residents of Lewis told Irie FM News that Zeeks was recently released from jail and had returned to the area.

They claim that Zeeks was involved in an argument with his cronies, during which he was shot several times.

Residents who heard explosions during the night, alerted the police.

Its reported that early this morning, residents saw Zeeks body along a dirt path near a shop, with gunshot wounds.

They say there were drag marks on the ground as if he had been crawling in an attempt to get to the main road.

He also had a loaded gun in his pocket.

When contacted, Head of the St. Ann Police Superintendent Gary Francis revealed that Zeeks had been released on bail in July.

Superintendent Francis says residents of Lewis had reported an increase in robberies since Zeeks return to the community.

He says prior to his death, Zeeks was being investigated for involvement in several robberies, as well as for shooting at police officers.

Superintendent Francis is lauding the residents who secured the illegal Smith and Wesson firearm found in Zeeks possession.
