Amidst criticism from several stakeholders about his stance on the current Covid protocols, Prime Minister Andrew Holness is reiterating that there are measures in place to tackle the current surge in Covid-19, and that citizens must practice personal responsibility.

Despite a surge in Covid-19 cases and strain on the health system, Mr. Holness has maintained the measures which have been in place since last year and has urged people to get vaccinated.

Speaking at the official opening of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in Downtown Kingston this morning (January 19), the Prime Minister said the protocols are still relevant and will not be tightened.

Mr. Holness said Jamaicans must understand that it is now up to them to protect themselves.
