Human rights lobby group Amnesty International has released an advertisement depicting its view of the Jamaican police force as being violent and creating fear among citizens.
The advert accompanies a report entitled “Jamaica: illegal police tactics fuel scores of murders and sow culture of fear”.
Both were published on Thursday.
Amnesty says Jamaican authorities and local police are promoting a culture of fear amongst women and their families in marginalized communities to cover up thousands of alleged unlawful police killings amid systematic injustice.
The video is dubbed “Waiting in vain: unlawful police killings and relatives’ long struggle for justice”.
