by November 4th, 2017

Reggae Boyz goalkeeper Andre Blake has been named Philadelphia Union Player of the Month for October.

Blake started the month with a shutout against the defending MLS Cup champions Seattle Sounders FC, where he made highlight reel saves against Clint Dempsey and Will Bruin in the second half to secure the teams’ 2-0 victory.

The 26 year old also put on a stunning performance in the season finale against Orlando City SC on their way to a 6-1 victory. He got into the game early with a big save in the 9th minute and set the tone for the defense, making sure the Orlando City SC attack was kept at bay.

During the month of October, Blake made 10 saves and had 1.33 goals against average. He dropped his career goals against average to 1.31, setting a new career high, and also set a Union record with a .700 save percentage in 2017.
