Andre Blake, Theodore Whitmore and Kemar Lawrence shortlisted for Concacaf awards

Reggae Boyz goalkeeper Andre Blake following outstanding performances for Jamaica and the Philadelphia Union has been short-listed in two categories at the upcoming Concacaf awards.

The awards, which began in 2013 and will be presented for the 5th time, recognizes the top players, coaches and referees in men’s and women’s events from the region.

Blake who won the golden glove award at the 2017 Concacaf Gold Cup has been shortlisted for the player of the year award alongside the likes of Javier Hernandez, Clint Dempsey, Christian Pulisic and Costa Rica and Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

The 27 year old is also up for the male goalkeeper of the year award where he will face competition from the likes of Tim Howard, Guillermo Ochoa and Jaime Penedo.

Theodore ‘Tappa’ Whitmore meanwhile is in line for the male coach of the year award after leading the reggae Boyz to a second place finish at the 2017 gold cup in the United States.

Reggae Boyz defender Kemar Lawerence……the other Jamaican shortlisted for an award, was nominated for goal of the year for his stunning free-kick in the 88th minute in the Gold Cup semi-finals against Mexico on July 23.

Voting is open for all categories until December 13.
