Andre Russell to return to cricket in Pakistan Super League in January

Jamaica and West Indies T20 star, Andre Russell, will make his return to cricket in the Pakistan Super League in January as he will be turning out for the Islamabad united bought him in the draft yesterday. 

Russell has not played cricket for a year after he was banned by the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) after committing a ‘wheareabouts violation’.

He had missed tests on three occasions in the space of a year after failing to inform JADCO where he would be, so he could be tested…….. The violation is treated in the same manner as a positive drug test.

Russell will be joined by fellow windies’ T/20 player, Samuel Badree in the Islamabad team

Meanwhile fellow Jamaican star Chris Gayle failed to find a team to find a team in the draft.

Gayle was released by Karachi kings following the conclusion of the last PSL season after he managed a mere 160 runs from nine innings after representing Lahore Qalanders in the 2016 inaugural tournament

Kieran Pollard, Nicolas Pooran and Darren bravo will team up for the ultan sultans, while Darren Sammy and Dwayne Bravo turn out for Peshawar Zalmi.

Lahore Qalandars have the services of Sunil Narine while the Quetta Gladiators will have West Indies T/20 skipper, Carlos Brathwaite.
