One man is dead and two other people are injured, following a motor vehicle collision with a head of cattle, along Bay Road in Little London, Westmoreland, on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Christopher Samuels of Dalling Street in Savanna-La-Mar.

Reports are that about 2:20 A.M., Samuels, another man and a woman were travelling in a Toyota Corolla Axio motor car, towards Negril.

Upon reaching a section of the roadway, a head of cattle walked into the path of the vehicle, causing a collision.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into a tree.

The three occupants sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital.

Samuels was pronounced dead while the driver and the woman were hospitalised.

This is the second fatal crash involving cattle in Westmoreland, this week.

On Sunday evening, 22-year-old police constable Tajay Ebanks, died after a head of cattle ran into the path of the motor cycle he was driving along the Savanna-La-Mar main road.
