Another suspect in last year’s assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse, has been apprehended in Jamaica.

He has been identified as Jean Joël Joseph, a former Haitian senator.

Head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communication Unit, Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay confirmed the arrest.

It’s reported that Joseph and three other members of his family were arrested in Jamaica on immigration related charges.

The police in a release said they have since made contact with Haitian authorities as investigations continue in the case.

Mr. Joseph was arrested about 8:30 Pm on Friday at a home in St. Elizabeth by members of the Counter Terrorism & Organized Crime (CTOC) unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force and the St. Elizabeth divisional police.

Meanwhile, the arrest of Joseph follows the arrest of ex-Colombian soldier, Mario Palacios, in October 2021. He was deported in early January, 2022.
